The Tigers hit the road this past weekend to take on the Moody Bible Institute Archers and the Maranatha Baptist University Sabercats. Going into the weekend, Grace was sitting at 9-12 on the year, fresh off a big home win against Great Lakes Christian College. Two wins on the weekend would get the team near .500 again on the season.
Starting off in Chicago, Grace had no problem cruising past the Archers. After leaping out to a 38 point lead by halftime, the Tigers never looked back and won by a margin of 63 points, 114-51.
Ethan Clason led the scoring on the night with 16 points, closely followed by
Ty Thiel who has caught fire as of late. Nate Blasko led the rebounding effort with 9.
The following day, Grace looked to continue their success against Maranatha, who Grace previously had a game canceled with due to weather. Again, the Tigers came out strong in the first half and built a 21 point lead at halftime. The sceond half saw more of the same, and Grace finished off the Sabercats by a final of 96-63. Five players scored double digits in this game for Grace Christian, including
Ty Thiel,
Zac Yorke,
Ethan Clason,
Parker Neu, and
JT Martinson.Â
Next up for the Tigers is a return trip to Andrews University in Berrien Springs, MI on Saturday, February 3rd. The Tigers handled Andrews without an issue in December, winning that match-up 104-46.Â
