Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Grace Volleyball goes 2-1 this weekend, Martin reaches milestone

Wyoming, MI - It was a special weekend for the Grace Christian Volleyball team as they honored their seniors in their final home games of the season. Senior Morgan Martin also reached a remarkable milestone as she surpassed 1,000 career kills and 1,000 career digs.

Martin hit the 1,000 digs mark during their first match up of the weekend on Friday evening as they welcomed Emmaus Bible College to the Aldrich. The Tigers fell 0-3 to the Eagles.

On Saturday Grace hosted the Sabercats of Maranatha Baptist University for a double header. Not only did the Tigers complete a clean sweep of the Sabercats 6-0, but Morgan Martin surpassed 1,000 careers kills, making the day even more special. Martin led the Tigers with 32 kills and 6 aces over the weekend. Senior Lily Hulst added 76 assists, while Kyrsten Nolen had 32 digs. Senior Alexa Borgman tallied 26 kills.

"Morgan has been our consistent rock in the front row and middle back every year," commented Coach Kerri Shultz. "It doesn't surprise me she reached such big milestones because she has earned it. I am very proud of the work she has put in each year to contribute to the team, and how selfless she goes about doing it."

Grace's five seniors were honored before Saturday's games - Leah Buller, Lily Hulst, Alexa Borgman, Triston Murray, and Morgan Martin.

The Tigers, 9-10 overall, will be back on the road this weekend with games against Mount Mary University (WI) and Moody Bible Institute (IL).
