Wyoming, MI - The Women's Soccer team welcomed Maranatha Baptist University to Velting Field on Saturday afternoon. The two teams had faced each other a week prior but at Maranatha's home field, where Grace fell 0-1 to the Sabercats.
In another competitive match, the two teams evenly controlled the game until less than 5 minutes to go before the half, when Maranatha would score their first goal. The Sabercats would find the back of the net for a second time right after halftime, but the Tigers did the same shortly after.
Julia Schultz's second-half header would bring the score to 1-2 as Maranatha held the lead. The Sabercats would score one final goal to secure their 3-1 victory over the Tigers.
Amiah Lake recorded 6 saves in goal.
The Grace Women's Soccer team heads to Lansing on Wednesday for a rivalry match up against Great Lakes Christian College. Kick off is 2:30pm.
