Wyoming, MI - Over the weekend, the Tigers Women's Basketball team welcomed the Crimson Wave of Calumet College to the Aldrich Athletic Center. Tigers entered into this matchup 1-2 on the year, looking to get back to the .500 mark.
The Crimson Wave came out firing on all cylinders as they jumped out to a 16-4 lead to close out the first quarter. The Tigers would regroup and respond putting together some solid offense of their own led by freshman guard Emilee Klacking. The Tigers would head to the locker room at the half down 26-16.Â
The Crimson Wave would then take control early in the second half opening up a 29 point lead going into the 4th quarter. The Tigers would continue to fight and play hard till the final buzzer as they fell by a final score of 47-65, dropping their record to 1-3 on the year.Â
"I was really happy with the way the team played till the end against a tough team," said Grace Coach Dennis Graham, "We played hard and competed until the final buzzer regardless of what the scoreboard said."Â
The Tigers leading scorer on the day was freshman Emilee Klacking who scored a career high 18 points and had 5 assists. Julia Schultz and Jessi Calizo both finished with double digit rebounds on the night.Â
The Tigers' next action is on Wednesday, November 13, when they will go on the road to take on the University of Northwestern Ohio, tipping off at 5:30pm.Â
