Wyoming, MI - The Grace Christian University Men's Soccer team were once again crowned Midwest Regional Champions Saturday at home on Velting Field. By winning, the Tigers have now won 3 straight Regional Championships making it five out of the last six with titles in 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023 and 2024. Grace's composure and defensive qualities proved to be the difference winning the tournament without conceding a goal. Grace earned the final victory over Kuyper College only needing one goal, scored by freshman Paul Ureel (Holland, MI) assisted by freshman Jacobo Ariza (Bogota, Colombia) to hoist the banner with.
"We knew it would be an intense, physical battle. We also knew that keeping our composure and playing disciplined in all areas would key. I am extremely proud of the guys on all levels. They earned this. Every single one of them. The guys were resilient and relentless in their pursuit. They are great teammates to one another that we as coaches have the joy to coach every single day. I love and appreciate their desire to work hard and give glory to God. I truly love that they were able to have this experience and put us in a position to compete for a national championship."
The Grace Christian University Men's Soccer team finishes the season with a 10-6-2 record and will now head to Kissimmee, FL for the National Tournament held November 18-23, 2024.
