Box Score 2 Ann Arbor, MI - The Grace Christian Softball team concluded their inaugural season this week in Ann Arbor. Their NCCAA Midwest regional tournament featured Concordia University Ann Arbor and Geneva College (PA). The Grace Tigers faced Geneva, 28-18, for their first game on Tuesday afternoon.
Game One
Grace would start the game off with one run scored by
Renee Viles Gable, who was sent home by advancing on wild pitches. Geneva was able to claim the lead at the bottom of the first with 4 of their own runs. The Tigers gave up 6 more runs in the second and third innings. Geneva would allow one more run for the Tigers at the top of the fifth. A sacrifice fly by
Lexie Alexander drove in
Skylar Lowe. The Golden Tornadoes ended the Grace Tigers' season with a final score of 2-10. Viles Gable led the Tigers with 3 hits, while Alexander had the lone RBI.
Game Two
On Wednesday morning the Tigers faced Geneva once again in an elimination game. Off to a hot start, the Golden Tornadoes were able to score 10 runs in the first inning. Grace's first run of the game came in inning two when a wild pitch sent
Carlee DeVries home.
Emma Balkema scored one more run at the top of the fifth on an error. The Tigers did not give up any runs in the second and third innings, but it was not enough as they fell 2-11.

Kiersten Palmbos, and Viles Gable had one hit each.
The Grace Softball team wrapped up their 2024 season, with a final record of 8-21. They are looking ahead to next season in hopes of improvement, along with some strong additions to the 2024-25 class.
