Wyoming, MI - Grace took Indiana NW (NAIA) last night earning the 2-1 victory on Velting Field. The Tigers started the match with solid play controlling the tempo of the game. Thirteen minutes into the match, a great pass from freshman
Caden Petroelje (Holland Christian) found senior Nate Davis (Allegan) who put his shot past the RedHawks keeper finding the corner. The Caden to Nate combination would create the second goal in the 35th minute. INU would get one back just before half against the run of play when a Red Hawks defender had the ball carrum off his knee finding a ball through to their forward who finished with quality which had the Tigers take the 2-1 lead into halftime. After a back and forth match in the second, and a gritty performance required as the Red Hawks pushed to equalize, the match ended with the same 2-1 scoreline and a Tigers victory. Both teams had chances in the second, requiring incredible saves on two occasions for the INU keeper and Tiger's keeper freshman
Hamilton Morgan (Knoxville, TN). Morgan recorded his first collegiate start and victory.
Grace will hit the road for their next match versus Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan on Friday 9/13.
