Wyoming, MI - For their first match on Velting Field this season, the Grace Christian Women's Soccer team welcomed Indiana University Northwest on Tuesday afternoon. About 30 minutes into the game, IU Northwest scored their first goal of the game.
The Tigers allowed 3 more goals in the second half, ending the game 0-4. Goalkeeper
Amiah Lake recorded an impressive 24 saves, a season-high for the Tiger. Despite the scoreboard, Grace continues to improve each and every game.
Head Coach Sean Wilson remains optimistic, stating, "Another gutsy performance from the team. The first half we got really stuck in and defended incredibly well. We executed our game plan to near perfection for most of the first half."
"As the second half went on we continued to be very gritty and work very hard," continued Wilson. "Other than a few bad breaks going against us we felt very good about the second half as well. It's amazing to see the culture we are setting out to build grow right in front of us.The results aren't showing up in the win column but we are so far ahead of schedule of where I was hoping wwe would be and will use this result as another building block for where we want to be at the end of the season."
Grace Women's Soccer is back in action on Thursday as they travel down to Huntington University (IN). Kick off is 4pm.
