Tigers Go 2-0 on the Weekend

Watertown, WI - After reaching the .500 mark with a sweep over Andrews University last week, Women's volleyball went on the road over the weekend to take on Maranatha Baptist University, and Calumet College of St. Joseph.

The Tigers got off to a little bit of a slow start dropping the first set against Maranatha by a score of 21-25. The Tigers would heat up quickly after, led by Alexa Borgman's 16 kills, Delaney Sommers 34 assists, and Kyrsten Nolen's 27 digs the Tigers would go on to the next three sets completing a 3-1 match win.

Following the win over Maranatha the Tigers traveled to take on Calumet College of St. Joseph before returning home. The first was back and forth as the Tigers jumped out to an early lead, but the Crimson Wave would later come back and take the lead. This trend continued all the way through the first set with the Tigers capitalizing on a Crimson Wave miscue and sealing the win with a Kyrsten Nolen ace to take the first set 25-23.

The Crimson Wave would respond and take the second set thanks to an 11-0 scoring run midway through. The Tigers opened up the third set with a 5-0 scoring run and were able to maintain that lead and stay in control throughout the set to secure a 25-19 win, and take a 2-1 match lead.

In the fourth set the Crimson Wave again sprung out to a big lead propelled by another major scoring run midway through the set. The Crimson Wave would maintain control and go on to win the set 25-18 forcing a winner take all game 5.
