Wyoming, MI - Men's Basketball welcomed the Crimson Pride of Indiana University Columbus to the Aldrich Athletic Center for their first home action of the 2025-26 season. The Tigers dropped the season opener on the road at Goshen College earlier this week.
The Crimson Pride came out aggressive defensively but the Tigers were able to take a 36-30 lead into the locker room led by Aiden Burns 11 points.
Coming out of the locker room the Crimson Pride began to pick up some momentum and take the lead early in the second half. The scoring would be back and forth and momentum would continue to shift with each team jumping out to sizable leads and the other battling back.
With 40 second left in regulation the Crimson Pride would knock down the go ahead bucket to make it 77-75. The Tigers would run a play to set up the game tying bucket with under 10 to go but the shot would be off the mark. However, Louie McCloud would be there to gather the rebound, drive the lane, and knock down the tying layup with 3 seconds on the clock.
The Crimson Pride would then try and push the tempo to catch the Tigers off guard but Aiden Burns would be there to intercept the inbound pass and knock down a turnaround mid-range jumper at the buzzer to lift the Tigers to a 79-77 win in the home opener.
Burns led the scoring with 20, followed by Keonte Richards, Brayden Gable, and Louie McCloud who all contributed 14 points to the afternoons victory.
The Tigers are back in action next week Tuesday at 8:00pm as they travel on the road to Whiting, Indiana to take on Calumet College of St. Joseph. Visit gracetigers.com for schedule, results, and live-stream info
