Wyoming, MI - Coming off a 1-1 weekend road trip in Kentucky, The Tigers returned to the Aldrich Athletic Center on Tuesday to take on the Andrews University Cardinals. The Tigers entered into this matchup 5-4 and are looking to build momentum going into Thanksgiving break.
The Tigers got off to a bit of a slow start in the first half with Andrew jumping out to an early lead and remaining in control for the majority of the first half. The physical level of play from Andrew's proved to be a challenge for the Tigers in the early goings of this one.
Andrews took an 11 point half time lead to the locker at the break. The Tigers came out and got off to a hot start in the second half going on a quick 6-0 to start the half and fighting their way back to gain the lead for the majority of the half. Andrew's would battle back and tie the game with 17 seconds left in regulation. The Tigers had a chance to win it at the buzzer but the attempt was just off the mark, so we headed to overtime.
The Tigers did not take their foot off the gas and took an early lead in overtime and a later three by Keontae Richards would put the game on ice as the TIgers would go onto win 77-70 in overtime. The Tigers were led by Keontae Richards who finished with 23 points and 7 assists. Brayden Gable put together a solid performance finishing with 15 points and 9 rebounds, including a highlight reel in the second half.
The Tigers next action will be November 30 as they take on Grand Valley State University, in a weekend exhibition matchup. Visit
