Women's Basketball splits in Wisconsin

Watertown, WI - The Grace Women's Basketball team has been battling injuries the last couple of weeks, but it did not stop them from giving it their all this weekend as they made the trip to Wisconsin. The shorthanded Tigers' first stop was in Watertown for a match up against Maranatha Baptist University on Friday night. 

Although down by 3 at halftime, a strong third quarter would push the Tigers past Maranatha, outscoring them 21-11. Tied with 45 seconds remaining, Julia Schultz hit two free throws to claim a 2 point lead, securing a 43-41 victory over the Sabercats. Sierra Fonseca had 18 points and 8 rebounds for the Tigers, while Emilee Klacking added 10 points. Julia Schultz grabbed 14 rebounds.

On Saturday the Women's Basketball team faced Mount Mary University (Milwaukee, WI). The Tigers fell 42-82 to the Blue Angels. Fonseca continued her hot streak with over half of the team's points, scoring 26 points. The freshman has scored in the double digits in every game this season so far. Schultz again had 14 rebounds. 

The Tigers, 5-17, will rest this week before hosting Kuyper College on Wednesday, February 19.
