Tigers fall twice in Tennessee

McKenzie, TN - The Tigers played another double header on Friday against NAIA Bethel University in Tennessee. The Tigers once again found themselves struggling in the first game, but showed signs of improvement in game two.

Although Grace struggled to stop Bethel in game one, Kaliann Newberry was able to record a double and an RBI, while the two runs of the game came from Skylar Lowe and Kyra Kaboos. Emma Balkema had an RBI as well, while also on the mound for the Tigers. The Tigers fell 2-15 in game one.

Grace held the Wildcats to only 5 runs in game two, falling 1-5. The Tigers gave up 3 runs in the first 3 innings, but would earn their lone run of the game by Morgan Hall on a hit by Lexi Alexander. Balkema led with 2 hits, while striking out two from the mound.

Wednesday's home opener for the Tigers has been cancelled due to weather, but they will now begin preparing for their spring break road trip. Spring break kicks off on Monday, March 10 as they make their first stop in Indiana for a double header against Indiana University Columbus.
