Box Score 2 Kentwood, MI - The bats continue to stay hot as the Grace Christian Softball team defeated the Lumberjacks of Alpena on Wednesday afternoon, extending their 6-game win streak.Ā
Game One
Skylar Lowe led the Tigers in Game One as she recorded 2 hits and 2 runs, along with 3 stolen bases. She scored the first run in the first inning as well as the Tigers' second run at the bottom of the fifth on an error by the Lumberjacks. There was three scoreless innings between the two runs and the Lumberjacks would score their lone run at the top of the sixth as they fell 2-1 to the Tigers.

Carlee DeVries, and
Emma Balkema each recorded a hit.
Balkema took the mound and was able to strike out 7, only giving up 1 run.Ā
Game Two
The Tigers put on a strong offensive performance in Game Two as they defeated Alpena 16-5. Lowe and Kaboos scored the first two runs in the first inning. The Lumberjacks scored 5 runs at the top of the third to pull ahead, but Grace answered with 6 runs of their own at the bottom of the inning. The Tigers sealed off their victory with 8 more runs at the bottom of the fourth. Lowe, Balkema, and DeVries had 3 hits a piece, while Balkema also added 4 RBIs.Ā

Alyssa Wallinga was on the mound for Game Two and recorded 2 strikeouts.Ā
Grace Softball improves to a 7-4 record at home, 9-14 overall. The Tigers look to continue their winning streak on Friday as they host Aquinas College JV for a double header. First pitch is scheduled for 3pm.Ā
