Box Score 2 Kentwood, MI - Softball hosted The University of Olivet Comets on Tuesday for a doubleheader at Kellogwoods Park. It was a chilly 40 degree day with some wind, but nothing the Tigers haven't already played in.
Game one was a pitchers duel, ending in a 1-2 defeat for Grace.
Emma Balkema pitched well, going a complete game with 8 strikeouts. The Tigers collected four hits in the game, by
Kyra Kaboos,
Kaliann Newberry,
Morgan Hall and
Emma Balkema.
Game two would see a lot more action as Grace got 13 hits in the game, led by
Kaliann Newberry with three hits. Allyssa Waliinga,
Morgan Hall, and
Kyra Kaboos each had two hits. Tammy Perrota threw 6.0 innings giving up 10 hits and 4 runs, and earning the win.
Emma Balkema came in for the 1.0 innning save.
Grace travels to Maranatha Baptist over the weekend for a 4 game set with the Sabercats in Watertown, Wisconsin.
