Wyoming, MI - On September 6, 2025 the Tigers Men's Soccer team took on the #3 ranked NAIA Wildcats from Indiana Wesleyan University. This would likely be the toughest opponent that Grace will see all season.
The Wildcats jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in a very physical first half of play. The Tigers would head into the locker room hoping to regroup and bounce back in the second half. IWU added another goal that went just outside of the reach of Freshman keeper Logan Werschem on what was an outstanding diving effort. Down 3-0 the Tigers bared down and found a way to respond scoring their first goal on a header by Joshua Triana assisted by Ibrahim Nkonde Jr. The Tigers would then add another on a beautiful PK from Jacobo Ariza narrowing the Wildcats lead to 3-2.
The Tigers would fight hard for the remainder of the game creating a few scoring chances for themselves but not quite being able to land the equalizer, and with time running out the Wildcats tacked on another goal to make the final score 4-2.
This loss brings the Tigers record to 2-2 on the year as they travel on the road next Thursday, September 11, to take on Alma College at 5:00 PM. The Tigers look to bounce back and find themselves back in the win column next week.
