Wyoming, MI - On Thursday, January 15, women's hoops took on Maranatha Baptist University at the Aldrich Athletic Center. This would be the first of two meetings between the Tigers and Sabercats in the 2025-26 campaign.
The Sabercats came out hot in the first quarter and jumped out to an early lead but the Tigers would quickly settle in and go on a 9-0 scoring run to end the first quarter. The Tigers would continue to apply pressure in the second quarter and extend the lead even further, outsourcing the Sabercats 17-2 in the quarter and taking a 28-10 lead into the locker room at the half.
The second half would be more of the same as the Tigers continued to dominate on both ends of the court and went on to win 62-37. Sierra Fonseca (13) led the Tigers followed closely by Maddy Terry (12) and Jaiden Sharrow (11).
The Tigers now look to prepare for their next matchup next Thursday as they will host the Great Lakes Christian College Crusaders for a 5 PM tip.
