Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Mens Basketball 2-0 on the road to end the regular season

Chicago, IL - Men's basketball finished off their regular season on the road last weekend. Taking on the Moody Bible Archers on Thursday, followed by the Maranatha Baptist University Sabercats on Friday. The Tigers had previously beaten each of these teams at home earlier in the year and look to complete the season sweep before heading into regional play.

The Tigers jumped out to an early lead in this one but Moody was able to string together several solid possessions to keep it a tight game. Louie McCloud really took control of the offensive side of the ball scoring a career high in this one. Led by McCloud and Gable the Tigers took an 11 point lead into the locker room at the half.

Coming out of the locker room the Tigers extended their lead to 20 before the Archers would go on a run and get cut the lead all the way down to 2 points late in regulation. But McCloud would continue his dominant offensive performance and the Tigers would pull away and ultimately put the game out of reach going onto win 94-77. McCloud finished with a game high 27 points, followed by Brayden Gable who contributed 17 points off the bench.

Watertown, WI - Following the win at Moody the Tigers would head to Maranatha Baptists to complete the roadtrip. This game would prove to be all Tigers as they commanded the pace of the game from the opening tip. From their size in the paint scoring 50 points in the paint, to their disruptive defense leading to 25 Sabercat turnovers.

Keontae Richards led the scoring for the Tigers with 21 points and 8 rebounds. Louie McCloud and Brayden Gable followed with 13 points apiece.

With these two wins the Tigers improved to 15-12 to conclude the regular season and they now look ahead to the NCCAA Midwest Regional tournament at Emmaus University in Dubuque, IA this coming weekend.
