Watertown, WI - Women's hoops completed their regular season on the road at Maranatha Baptist before heading to Dubuque, Iowa for the start of regional play.
Led by Sierra Fonseca the Tigers were able to get things going early on the offensive side of the ball. The Sabercats would find an offensive rhythm of their own and take a 19-17 lead into the second quarter. The second quarter proved to be more of the same back and forth scoring on both sides with the Sabercats holding their 2 point lead going into the locker room at the half.
The Tigers would come out hot in third quarter forcing several turnovers and turning what was a 2 point deficit into a 9 point lead heading into the fourth quarter. The Tigers would continue to play well on both sides of the ball down the stretch and keep the Sabercats from fighting their way back into the game going on to win 71-60 to conclude the regular season.
SIerra Fonseca led the Tigers with 30 points and 7 rebounds on the night. The Tigers also played very well defensively forcing 30 Sabercat turnovers leading to 22 points.
The Tigers now get set to take on the Great Lakes Christian College Crusaders in the NCCAA Midwest Regional tournament on Friday at 3:00 PM (CST) at Emmaus University in Dubuque, Iowa.
