Wyoming, MI - Men's soccer opened their 2026 campaign at Velting Field where they took on the Trailblazers from Ohio Christian University, in what turned out to be a physical match. The Tigers come into this year with a lot of excitement built around a talented and young group. 

The Tigers took control early creating several scoring chances for themselves while keeping OCU off the ball. Just 5 minutes in, CJ Kazmerski would deliver a beautiful pass to Andrew Robinson who would find the back of the net to put the Tigers up 1-0. 

Later in the first half, the Tigers buried their second goal of the day scored by Mateo Nabben, assisted by Andrew Robinson.

On the defensive side Logan Werschem put together a solid performance in goal. Werschem collected 9 total saves on the day including an outstanding save on an OCU penalty kick late in the second half. 

The Tigers would continue to play well defensively while remaining on the attack for the majority of the game. The Tigers would go on to keep the trailblazers off the board and win the season opener 2-0.
