Wyoming, MI - Women's Soccer hosted the Ohio Christian University Trailblazers for their season opener at Velting Field on Saturday, August 29, 2026. The Tigers have a lot of excitement coming into this season as they look to build around a young and talented group.
This one proved to be a tough battle as both teams battled for possession and there was solid defense played on both sides. The Tigers were able to create a couple of scoring chances for themselves early in the first half but weren't able to find the back of the net.
Kenna Hill put together a solid performance in goal as she came up with 10 saves on the day keeping the Trailblazers off the board. With just 2:50 left in regulation Samantha Crownover delivered a deep pass to America Carreno who found some open space and found the back of the net to score her first collegiate goal and what proved to be the winning goal.
The Tigers defense would hold for the final two minutes and they would go on to secure a 1-0 shutout victory in their season opener.
