Wyoming, MI – Some missteps in the second and third quarters would doom the Grace Christian University women's basketball team in a 68-60 loss to Trinity International University Tuesday evening at the Aldrich Athletic Center.

After capturing an early lead, the Tigers allowed the Trojans to take control in the third period as they developed a double-digit lead.  The Tigers made a run late in the game to get within striking distance but could not close in all the way, resulting in the 8-point loss.

Junior Miranda Carlson led the Tigers with 15 points on the night, followed by freshman Bre Harris with 14.  Freshman Ashley Hoek scored 12 points, pulled down 8 rebounds, and had 2 blocks.  Harris led the Tigers with 7 assists and 5 steals.  Sophomore Megan George rounded the Tigers out in double figures with 10 points on 4-7 shooting.

Head Coach C.B. Long shared some words after the game.

"Our program is learning who they are at the same time they are learning how I want them to play. When the learning curve is steep, there are days when it doesn't make sense. Earlier I asked our team to have faith in the process. Without faith, it may at times look like a dog chasing a rabbit, except when you don't see the rabbit, it may look like insanity.  Without understanding there is a rabbit to chase (our goal), it looks a lot like chaos. It looks a lot like frustration. Successful teams manage frustration and move forward in spite of it. We need to do the same. Last night was frustrating. Yet it was a part of the growth necessary for us to overcome and succeed."

The Tigers, now 7-10 on the season, return to the court after a Holiday hiatus against Calumet College of St. Joseph in Whiting, Indiana on January 3rd.
