Wyoming, MI – The NCCAA #6 Grace Christian University Tigers defeated the Great Lakes Christian College Crusaders Tuesday evening at the Aldrich Athletic Center, 87-49.
Sophomore Megan George led the Tigers with 14 points, connecting on 4-6 shots from beyond the arc. Freshman Bre Harris was the only other Grace player in double figures with 10, as they used a balanced attack that achieved a season-high 45 points off the bench. Junior Miranda Carlson reached her 1,000th career point early in the second half, becoming only the 14th Tiger in program history to do so.
Head Coach CB Long shared some words after the game.
"In a game where we have several highlights, the one that stands out to me was the excitement I had for Miranda scoring her 1000th career point. Another was seeing Carissa Reed having a season high 6 points. Both learning to overcome obstacles through God's mercy and love. Both witness to what can be done if you stay the course. One of my favorite quotes, 'Stay, when everyone else leaves. Have, what everyone else wants.' These ladies stayed. Our team has become good at overcoming obstacles and will continue to have opportunities towards growth. I am proud of them all as a whole and as individuals who fight each and every day to be their best."
Grace, now 11-14 on the year, will now travel to Nashville, Tennesee for games this Friday and Saturday. Friday's game at 6:00 pm will be a big one – matching up with Welch College who is currently ranked #5 in the NCCAA DII.
