Nashville, TN – The Grace Christian University women's basketball team's weekend started off with a 66-61 overtime road win over NCCAA DII #5 Welch College on Friday. With the Tigers holding a 1-point advantage late in the game, Welch knocked down a 3-point shot to take a 2 point lead with just seconds remaining. Subsequently, freshman Bre Harris drove the lane and drew a foul, and calmly knocked down two free throws to forced overtime. This showed strong evidence of improvement throughout the season, as Welch defeated the Tigers at the Aldrich Athletic Center back at the beginning of November.
The Tigers finished off the Welch Classic with a dominating defensive effort in a 70-34 win over Crowley's Ridge College on Saturday morning.
Harris and junior Miranda Carlson both had 17 points to lead the Tigers on Friday, and sophomore Megan George topped the box score with 17 on Saturday.
The Tigers return to their home floor Tuesday night at 5:00 pm against Andrews University at the Aldrich Athletic Center.
