Watertown, WI – The Grace Christian University women's basketball team went into a tough road environment on Friday night, facing the NCCAA #9 Maranatha Baptist University Sabercats. Just two short weeks ago the Tigers used a big fourth quarter to defeat Maranatha at the Aldrich Athletic Center in a very even match-up, and after the first three quarters Friday night, the game was shaping up for an exciting finish once again.
Unfortunately for the Tigers, this time the final period was owned by the Sabercats, as the home team would go on to prevail once again after a dominating fourth quarter, resulting in a 57-43 setback for Grace.
Freshman Bre Harris and junior Megan Scholtens accounted for a large chunk of the Tigers' scoring, with 13 points each. Harris also added team highs of 4 steals and 4 assists, while freshman Ashley Hoek pulled down a team-high 12 rebounds.
The Tigers move to 13-15 on the year heading into a regional match-up with Great Lakes Christian College in Lansing, MI this Wednesday at 5:00 pm. They currently sit at #6 in the NCCAA Top 10 rankings, which will be updated Tuesday afternoon.
