Wyoming, MI – In resilient fashion, the Grace Christian University volleyball team closed out their regular season Wednesday with a 3-2 win over Jackson College. The win came in front of an energetic crowd at the Aldrich Athletic Center in a game where seniors
Emma Summerfield and
Chloe DeVries were honored before the game on senior night.
In the first set, the Tigers found themselves down 23-19 but would storm back for a thrilling 28-26 set win to go up 1-0. The next two games were all Jets, and the Tigers found themselves down 10-4 in the fourth set after falling behind 2-1 in sets, and things were looking grim. At this point the Tigers dug deep and flipped the switch and dominated the remaining portion of the match, winning the fourth set 25-21 and the deciding set 15-7.
Sophomore
Ashley Hoek had a monster of a match, with 21 kills and 6 blocks.
Megan Postma added 15 kills.
Emma Summerfield recorded 4 serving aces and a team-high 23 digs.
Next up for Grace is the Mideast Regional Tournament at Boyce College in Louisville, KY played from November 14-November 16.
