Won, not done! Tigers win big in semis to set stage for Championship rematch

Kissimee, FL – After a 5-0 win in the NCCAA DII semifinal game, the Grace Christian University women's soccer team is headed to the National Championship game for the second straight season.

Senior Maddie Brown did what she does best, scoring three goals to lead the Tigers, which surpassed Debbie Pekel's season record of 27 goals set back in 2013.  Brandy Weaver and Alicia Contreras scored the other goals for the Tigers, and Contreras added an assist along with Soraida Garcia.  Junior goalkeeper Regan Befus was busy in the shutout, recording a couple spectacular saves to keep the clean sheet and totaling 10 saves on the day.

The Tigers' opponent in tomorrow's championship game will be a familiar one, the #1 seeded Bob Jones University Bruins.  The Bruins defeated the Tigers in 2016 in the championship game, and the Tigers defeated the Bruins in PK's last season to achieve their first ever National Title.  The stage is set for an awesome showdown tomorrow at 2:30 pm at the official Austin-Tindall Complex stadium!
