Wyoming, MI – The Grace Christian University women's soccer team was matched up with the NCAA DIII Bluffton University Beavers on Wednesday evening at Velting Field, resulting in an entertaining evenly-matched game that would require overtime to determine a victor.
The Tigers were just two minutes away from recording their fifth straight victory, but Bluffton scored a clutch goal to force overtime on a header from a perfectly placed corner kick.  Each team had a couple solid chances to score in the first overtime period, with the Beavers scoring the dagger golden goal with 3:00 remaining to secure a 3-2 victory.
Time of possession and shots taken by each team were nearly identical, with the Beavers recording 16 shots (9 on goal) and the Tigers recording 14 (9 on goal).  Seniors
Alicia Contreras and
Maddie Brown scored for the Tigers, Contreras striking a perfect free kick from outside the box and Brown putting a shot past the keeper after receiving a great feed from
Brandy Weaver.
The Tigers, currently ranked #1 in the NCCAA DII polls, will return to the pitch this Friday at Cornerstone University for a primetime event under the lights at 7:00 pm.
