Lansing, MI – The Grace Tigers volleyball team returned to official action this past Saturday at Great Lakes Christian College, facing the Crusaders after one last exhibition win to complete their five-game string with Dayspring Bible College.
Grace would have control from start to finish, winning 3-0 and allowing Head Coach
Kerri Shultz to see a new rotation that she was very pleased with.
"We changed some things up this past week rotation wise, and it really benefited the team this weekend," said Shultz. "Our offense was able to be really aggressive and our defense was very scrappy. It was a great day of play and we had a lot of fun as a team!"
One of the recent switches made by the coaching staff was the move with freshman
Kenna Grant from libero to outside hitter, and Grant had an amazing outing Saturday, recording a team-high 30 kills. Junior
Megan Postma led the Tigers with 10 aces, and senior
Tori Johnston led the Tigers with 3 blocks and 19 assists.
The Tigers, now 10-5, will enjoy their first week and weekend away from competition this week, returning to action next Thursday, October 29
th for Senior Night at home against Great Lakes Christian College. They conclude their regular season with a trip to Tennessee that weekend before competing at the NCCAA DII Mideast Regional Tournament in Kentucky in early November.
