Wyoming, MI - The Grace Christian University women's basketball team enjoyed a successful weekend in the win column, defeating Welch College on back-to-back occasions Friday night and Saturday morning.
Megan George led the Tigers in the scoring column with 16 points.
Maggie Long and
Jada Reese both recorded double doubles for the Tigers, each with 14 points and 10 rebounds. As a team, the Tigers outrebounded the Flames 54-37 on the night.

Saturday's game would prove to be pretty similar until late in the third quarter, with the Tigers carrying a comfortable lead until the Flames caught fire and put together a valiant comeback effort in the final 15 minutes to put themselves within a couple possessions of knotting up the score. Late in the game, Grace was able to score some baskets to break free and earned a 73-60 win when it was all said and done.

Saturday's leaders were
Emily Libey with 20 points and
Bre VanVleet with 17. Once again the Tigers held the advantage in the rebounding margin at 41-31, led by 9 rebounds from
Jada Reese to go along with her team-high 4 blocks.

The wins move the Tigers to 2-0 on the year in the NCCAA DII and 2-3 overall. They are right back in action Monday evening at the Aldrich Athletic Center, taking on Cornerstone University at 7:00 pm.
