JV wins two over the weekend

Box Score 1 The Grace JV team went 2-0 over the weekend, defeating Grace College (IN) at home on Friday evening and Dayspring Bible College on Saturday on the road.

The Tigers built a 22-4 lead after consecutive dunks from Ace Cobbs and Deandra McDonald and would not look back on Friday evening, defeating Grace College (IN) in their first match-up ever against the Lancers, 83-71.

McDonald led the Tigers with 17 points and 11 rebounds, and Cobbs would follow suit with a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds.  Gerard Oray scored 11 points, dished out 9 assists, and recorded 5 steals.  Zak Lucas provided efficient offense off the bench with 13 points on 5-8 shooting from the field (2-3 from 3).

The Tigers didn't have much time to rest, heading to Lake Zurich, IL early Saturday morning for an afternoon tip against Dayspring Bible College.  The Tigers worked their way to a 79-59 win in front of a tough road atmosphere at Dayspring Bible College, led by Ace Cobbs with 17 points on 6-10 shooting.  Noah Johnston added 11 points, and Gerard Oray and Zak Lucas contributed 10 points.

The Tigers are now 14-7 on the year with a busy week ahead – games Monday, Tuesday, and a JV tournament hosted at the Aldrich Athletic Center on Thursday and Friday.
