Lima, OH - The Grace Christian University Tigers women's basketball team is still searching for their first win of the 2021 calendar year, after a lackluster second quarter was too much to overcome in a 66-44 loss at the University of Northwest Ohio over the weekend.
The Tigers' slow start resulted in a 24-point disadvantage at the halftime break, but they did not let their frustration sink them further in the final half, getting things back on track to outscore their opponent in the final 20 minutes to build some momentum for a week upcoming where they have two more tough NAIA games.

Head Coach
CB Long spoke after the game.
"After a very rough start and a poor shooting half, the ladies were challenged at halftime with the message of 'it's not what happens to you that makes you who you are it's how you respond.' I am very, very proud of the way every player responded. It takes courage to do what they did. And they did it well. Time to build on this."
Â
Emily Libey led the Tigers with 14 points, followed by
Ashley Hoek with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Â
The Tigers travel to Winona Lake, IN to take on Concordia-Ann Arbor on Wednesday at Noon, and follow up with a game against Grace College (IN) at 4:00 pm on Thursday.
