Winona Lake, IN – The Grace Christian University women's basketball team played well in stretches Thursday afternoon against the Grace College (IN) Lancers, but some shooting woes and turnovers would be too difficult to overcome in a 75-47 setback to the NAIA Lancers.
One bright spot in the game happened just a couple minutes in, when senior
Megan George knocked down a three point shot to officially reach the 1,000 career point milestone – an achievement only 15 others have accomplished in the history of Grace women's basketball.
Bre VanVleet scored a team-high 14 points and added 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals.
Ashley Hoek recorded 13 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 blocks. The Tigers are still trying to find their groove shooting the basketball, as they finished the game 18-59 from the field and just 2-20 from the three-point line.
The Tigers will spend Friday traveling to Knoxville, TN and they will return to the floor Saturday afternoon at Johnson University-Tennessee for a 4 pm regional match-up.
