Wyoming, MI – It was Senior Day Friday afternoon at Velting Field as the Grace men's soccer team closed out their regular season with an NCCAA Top 10 match-up against Moody Bible Institute (IL). The Tigers outshot the Archers 15-4 en route to a 3-0 shutout victory – marking nine straight wins to cap off the regular season.
Jorge Luis Saldanez-Veliz got things started for Grace, finishing a header off of a perfectly placed corner kick from
Johann Vega at the beginning of the game.
Ryan Cronkright would put the Tigers up 2-0 late in the first half on an assist from
Ethan DeWitt. Vega scored the lone goal in the second half, finishing a great pass from
Brett Arnold to the backside of the goal.
The Tigers have earned the #1 seed for this weekend's regional tournament in Louisville, KY, which also results in a bye and place in the semifinal against the winner of the #4/5 game between Boyce College and Appalachian Bible College. The semifinal game will be played at 6:30 pm on Friday.
