Winona Lake, IN – The Grace men's basketball team dropped two games to top tier NAIA teams this weekend at the Grace College Hoops for Hope classic, falling to the host Grace Lancers on Friday night and Huntington University Saturday afternoon.

Friday evening in the battle of the Grace's, the Tigers were in the game for the first half but a lackluster first five minutes of the second half would result in a 20+ point deficit that was too much to overcome as the Lancers coasted to a 94-64 victory.

Playing earlier in the day Saturday, it took the Tigers a little while to wake up on the defensive end, as the Huntington Foresters knocked down 13 three-point shots and jumped out to a 71-34 lead at the halftime break. The Tigers then were able to find their ground and outscore the Foresters in the second half, but the slow start still played a key role in the result of a 122-86 setback.

Parker Neu was awarded All-Tournament Team after scoring a career-high 26 points Friday and then adding 14 on Saturday. Eli Carlson led the Tigers on Saturday with a career-high 16 points including 4-7 shooting from beyond the arc.

The Tigers move to 2-5 on the season and look to bounce back in two more NCCAA DII match-ups later this week against Toccoa Falls College (GA) and Trinity Baptist College (FL), as the teams will meet on a neutral court in Louisville, KY.
