Allendale, MI – The Grace Christian University men's basketball team has been working out some kinks thus far this season, showing flashes of some serious potential along the way. Tuesday evening that potential was on display in the first 20 minutes of play, as they found themselves with a 50-48 lead on the road over NCAA DII #23 nationally-ranked Grand Valley State University.
Though the Tigers held on and remained within striking distance until around 7:00 remained in the game, they couldn't match their outstanding first half and the Lakers' size advantage and second half shooting would eventually allow them to break free, recording 15 offensive rebounds and knocking down 8-14 shots from beyond the arc in the final period.
Parker Neu led the Tigers with 19 points, followed by
Kellum Bridgeforth who filled the stat sheet with 17 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists, and 4 steals.
Thomas Hill provided some efficient offense off the bench, contributing 9 points on 3-4 shooting and 2-2 three-point shooting.
The Tigers, now 4-6 on the year, return to the court next Wednesday in Berrien Springs, MI, where they will face Andrews University at 7:30 pm.
