Wyoming, MI - It was a game of runs Monday evening at the Aldrich Athletic Center, as the Tigers' women's basketball team came within one basket of their first NAIA win of the season against Roosevelt University (IL).
After a strong start for Grace, the Lakers of Roosevelt had a strong second quarter to take a 10-point lead into halftime. The third quarter and first few minutes of the fourth were all Tigers, though, as the Tigers stormed out to capture the lead and extend it all the way to 9 points with 6 minutes remaining in the game. The Lakers went on a run of their own to capture the lead and multiple lead changes would occur in the final minutes before the Lakers had the ball knotted at 77-77 with under 10 seconds left and were able to connect on the game winning basket.
Ashley Hoek led the Tigers with 27 points and 14 rebounds.
The Tigers return to the court on the road in Iowa this weekend, after their only other game this weekend at Andrews University Wednesday night was cancelled by the host.
