Notre Dame, IN – After holding strong for the majority of the first half Wednesday afternoon, the Grace Christian University women's soccer team lost steam in the final 46 minutes, falling to Holy Cross College 8-0 in their first road game of the year.

The Holy Cross Saints only led 1-0 with under a minute remaining in the first half, and things were still well within reach for the Tigers. A late goal to finish the first half would give the Saints momentum and they kept it for the entire second half.

"It was a tough day today," said Head Coach Mike Riemersma. "We knew we were going to be up against it because Holy Cross has a very good squad. I was pleased with how we defended in the first half. I have always said that if you want your team and program to get better you need to play teams that are better than you. There were some things we can take away from today that we will work on and get better at for next time."

The Tigers were able to record 3 shots and 1 shot on goal, in addition to two corner kicks. Amiah Lake recorded 6 saves in goal.

Next up for Grace, now 1-1 on the season, is Bluffton University next Tuesday in Bluffton, OH.
