Bluffton, OH – Despite a valiant comeback effort late in the second half, the Grace women's soccer team fell to the NCAA DIII Bluffton Beavers on the road Tuesday afternoon, bringing them to 1-2 on the season.
After surrendering two first half goals and then one goal very early on in the second half, the Tigers flipped a switch with
Jennie Sue Pilieci scoring just minutes after the third goal from the Beavers.
Alivia TerMeer followed suit with a PK to put the Tigers within 1 goal with 17:00 still remaining on the clock. For the remainder of the game, the Tigers were able to record a couple shots but could not find the equalizer, resulting in the 3-2 setback.
The Tigers anticipated a match-up this Thursday against Campbellsville Harrodsburg at Velting Field, but that game has been moved to October 12 by the opposing team. Grace will now return to the pitch September 14 (next Tuesday) against Rochester University in Rochester Hills, MI.
