Wyoming, MI – The Grace Christian University men's basketball team struggled to get things going for the first 25 minutes of the game Tuesday evening against Andrews University, finding themselves down 46-31 with just 15:00 remaining in the game. At this point the Tigers caught fire, led by
Eli Carlson who had 20 points all in a final stretch where they outscored the Cardinals 45-13 to finish with a 76-59 win when the final buzzer sounded.
The Tigers bench – including
Gerard Oray,
Zac Yorke,
Eli Carlson, and
Cole Powell – provided the needed spark, outscoring the Cardinals bench 34-8 on the night.
Kierson Watts added 15 points and 11 rebounds and
Kellum Bridgeforth scored 11 and dished out 8 assists. After shooting 0-10 to start the game from beyond the arc, the Tigers knocked down 6-10 down the stretch led by five made threes from Carlson.
The Tigers, now 12-9 on the year, return to their home floor to take on Concordia Theological Seminary Thursday afternoon at 4:00 pm.
