Oakland City, IN - The Grace Christian University's Men's Basketball team dropped two games this weekend on their trip down to Indiana. The Tigers first fell to Oakland City University on Friday afternoon, 76-82.
Bankeys Omari led with 22 points and 4 rebounds and
Ty Thiel recorded 18 points and 5 rebounds.
The Tigers fell again 68-77 on Saturday afternoon to Indiana University East as they traveled to Richmond, Indiana.
JT Martinson scored 22 points and grabbed 6 rebounds, while Omari had 11 points.
"It was tough coming out of this weekend with 2 losses, but I think we came out of it a better team," said Head Coach
Ryan Krombeen. "Our effort was there all weekend, and for the most part, our toughness was as well. But if you want to beat good teams, you have to take care of the ball, hit free throws, and own the defensive boards. We didn't do those 3 things, and they were the difference between going 2-0 and 0-2 this weekend. It's been a season of inches so far, and we need to start getting those inches to turn the games in our favor."
Grace, now 0-3, returns to the Aldrich Athletic Center for a match up against Trinity Christian College on Wednesday at 7pm.
