Hard Fought Battle In Spring Arbor

Spring Arbor, MI - Following a tough weekend, the Tigers went back on the road Tuesday morning to take on the Spring Arbor University Cougars, for this midweek matchup. The Tigers entered this matchup with a 1-2 record in the early goings of the season.

This game would be back and forth throughout the entire first half as neither team could seem to pull away. The Tigers relied heavily on the three ball to keep them in this one in the first half as they shot 62% from deep, and 68% from the field in the half, as they entered the locker room with a 49-47 lead over the cougars.

This second half turned out to be more of the same, back and forth scoring from both sides, until the last 7 minutes of regulation when the Cougars took advantage of a couple of Tigers miscues and started to pull away. The Tigers would do their best to try and fight their way back into this one but would ultimately end up falling short by a score of 83-94.

The highlight of the day for the Tigers came from senior Guard Bankeys Omari who scored 34 points, and shot an impressive 59% from the floor, and finished 12-13 from the free throw line.

With the loss the Tigers record drops to 1-3 on the season, but they look to bounce back this weekend as they head on the road to Nashville Tennessee, to take on the Welch College Flames.
