Box Score 2 Nashville, TN - The Grace Men's Basketball team traveled to Nashville, Tennessee and Louisville, Kentucky over the weekend to take on the Welch College Flames and the Boyce College Bulldogs. The Tigers came in at 1-3 on the year looking to snap their three game skid.
The Tigers got off to a hot start against the Flames led by the offense of
Allen Briggs. Midway through the first half the Tigers would jump out to a 10 point lead and never look back from there.
Entering the half up 49-33, the Tigers looked to slam the door in the second half. With 13 minutes left in regulation the Tigers extended their lead to 20 points, and continued to add on to put the game away by a final of 98-71.
Tigers were lead by
Allen Briggs who scored a season high 24 points, and had ten rebounds securing a double double.
Gavin Fisher also had a solid night offensively shooting 4-5 from beyond the arc and finishing with 16.
Following the win, the Tigers headed to Boyce College in Louisville, Kentucky to take on the Bulldogs of Boyce College.
In what was a back and forth competition, the Tigers would come out on top with a final of 80-71.
Allen Briggs and Keys Omari both scored 15 in the afternoon, while
Zac Yorke dropped 13 and had 8 rebounds.
With these two wins the Tigers improved to 3-3 and ended their three game losing streak. Their next matchup is on Wednesday, November 13, at Davenport University for an exhibition game with the Panthers. Game time is 7pm.
