Wyoming, MI – For the first time in 10 years, the Kuyper College Cougars returned to the Aldrich Athletic Center on Thursday night to face the Grace Christian University men's basketball team in the annual Cross Cup showdown. Not only was it a significant night as Kuyper Head Coach and Grace Hall of Famer Gary Bailey returned to the Aldrich sideline to face former player and current Grace Coach
Ryan Krombeen, the game also would have heavy implications for who will receive the #1 seed in the Midwest NCCAA Regional Tournament two weeks from now.
After a back and forth game between two very evenly matched teams in front of an electric crowd and amazing basketball atmosphere, the Tigers would make the plays necessary down the stretch to secure an 88-83 victory.
Senior
Parker Neu led a balanced Tiger scoring attack on his senior night, with 19. Junior
Zac Yorke followed with 17 points. Junior
Quay Humphries was huge off the bench with 13 clutch points.
Next up for the Tigers is a two week break after this win concludes their regular season with a 15-12 record. Next up is postseason play, as Grace will be hosting the Midwest Regional Tournament on February 29-March 2.
