Grayson, KY - The Women's Soccer team traveled to Kentucky this weekend where they kicked off their 2024 season against NCCAA opponents Campbellsville-Harrodsburg and Kentucky Christian University. On Thursday evening the Tigers faced Campbellsville-Harrodsburg, only giving up one goal for a final score of 0-1. While battling injuries and being short handed on Saturday, Grace put up an impressive fight against Kentucky Christian as they only gave up two goals, ending the game 0-2.
Although the Tigers did not come away with a win, the trip turned out to be a great success. "Our team performed incredibly well and really succeeded in carrying out a very difficult and demanding play style," stated Head Coach Sean Wilson. "A lot was asked of them and they fulfilled and even exceeded those expectations. I am incredibly proud of the way we carried ourselves both on and off the field during the trip. Both games were very rewarding and has me very excited for building our culture the way we want it to be." Most importantly, Coach Wilson said that the trip gave the team a chance to grow closer.Â
Grace Soccer looks to continue improving as they travel across town on Tuesday night for a match up against Cornerstone University at 7pm. The Tigers return to Velting Field on Friday for their home opener against Ohio Christian University.
