Women's Soccer Bows Out of National Tournament

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Kissimmee, FL - The women's soccer team entered the national tournament as the #5 seed after earning an at-large bid following a strong regular season. The Tigers ranked first nationally in shots taken this year (365), in addition to scoring 2.97 goals per game, second in NCCAA Division II.

The Tigers would face a tough slate coming into the tournament however, matching up against #1 seeded Bob Jones University in game one on Monday. Missing their starting goalkeeper, Kenna Hill for this game due to a red card taken in the regional final, Grace needed to shut down the Bruins offense. They were able to hold Bob Jones to just two goals each half, but could not generate much on offense themselves, resulting in a 0-4 loss.

Tuesday was the second pool play matchup for the Tigers, and after Monday's loss, they would need a big win here to keep their season alive. Facing #4 seed Trinity College of Jacksonville, Grace knew they needed to ramp up the scoring effort. While the shots on goal increased for the Tigers, they couldn't convert any of their chances and lost a competitive 0-2 game to Trinity.

The Tigers have a lot to hang their hats on this year, improving from a 4-11 overall record in 2024 to a 7-10-2 overall record this year. Making the regional final game and earning a trip to nationals was a leap forward for the program, and a great start to Coach Sean Wilson's career so far as Head Coach. "I'm very proud of this group," Coach Wilson said after their last game. "The girls put in a ton of work this year, set big goals and achieved them. It's great to see the fruit of our labor, but now that we've seen the national tournament, the girls are ready for more. We're excited for next year."
