East Chicago, IN - On August 27, the Grace Christian University Men's Soccer team went on the road to open their 2025 season, In a hard fought physical match against Indiana Northwest University. 

The game remained scoreless through the first half as both teams showed a solid defensive effort. Freshman keeper Logan Werschem tallied two saves before leaving early on in the half due to an injury following a collision. Freshman Elijah Scott would come into replace him and make two saves of his own.

Early on in the second half the Red Hawks scored giving them a 1-0 lead. The Tigers were able to create several scoring opportunities throughout the game but were unfortunately never able to find the back of the net. With seven shots on goal and nothing to show for it the Tigers would ultimately fall 1-0 in their season opener. 

The Tigers look to bounce back in their home opener this Saturday, August 30th at 12:00pm  against Calumet College of St. Joseph. Visit gracetigers.com for updated results, stats, and live stream information.
