Manitowoc, WI - The Tigers gave the 22-4 Silver Lake College Lakers a great battle in the first half outscoring the Lakers 51 to 43. As hot as the Tigers were in the first half they turned cold in the second half. Though they still got many good shots nothing seemed to fall for the ladies. The Lakers on the other hand could not miss in the second half. The score was 64 to 62 going into the fourth quarter when Silver Lake sank two long range shots to push the lead up to 7 points. The Tigers were not able to cut into that lead and lost 91 to 79.
Freshman Jewel Ro (Hudsonville) was a bright spot for the Tigers scoring 27 points on 10 for 16 shooting including three 3 point shots. She also had 4 assists, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals. She also had no turnovers on the night.
Others scoring for the ladies were Anna Iwaniw (Sr. Kent City) 16 and 9 rebounds, McKenzie McCord (So. Cadillac) 14, 4 assists and 4 rebounds, Abby Schultz (Sr. Holland Calvary) 9, 6 rebounds and 4 assists, Amy Leszinske (Sr. Ravenna) 8 and 7 rebounds, Kitty Yanik (Jr.New Life Christian) 3 and 5 rebounds, and Stella Follett (Fr. Grant) 2, 2 assists and 2 rebounds.
The Tigers travel to Berrien Springs on Thursday to take on Andrews University and finish the regular season on Saturday against Illinois Tech.
