Berrien Springs, MI – In a night of offensive struggles, the Grace women's basketball team defeated an improved Andrews University squad Thursday, 45-37. The absence of sophomore guard McKenzie McCord was not easy to overcome, but the Tigers ultimately prevailed.
The Lady Tigers jumped out to a 27-16 lead at the halftime break, and kept their double digit lead for the majority of the second half. The Lady Cardinals were able to trim the lead all the way to six in the waning minutes of the game, but Grace was able to get defensive stops at the end of the game to seal the road win.
Anna Iwaniw (SR/Kent City HS) led the Tigers with 14 points, followed by Abby Schultz (SR/Holland Calvary HS) with 12. Schultz also added 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Amy Leszinske led the Tigers with 10 rebounds on the night.
Grace moves to 21-6 on the season. They return to the hardcourt this Saturday in Chicago, Illinois, as they will take on Illinois Tech.
