Lady Tigers show vast improvement vs. Cornerstone

Box Score Wyoming, MI - The Lady Tigers struggled as they fell to the Cornerstone University Golden Eagles by 49 points earlier on this season on November 7th.  Friday night at the Aldrich Athletic Center it would be an entirely different game.

After competing hard for the entirety of the first half, the Lady Tigers surrendered a late run that would see the Golden Eagles take a 43-30 point lead into halftime.  Grace would storm out in the second half with a couple baskets and points off turnovers to trim the Cornerstone lead all the way to two points midway through the third period.  The Golden Eagles were able to call a timeout and subsequently hit some key baskets to keep their lead and extend it.  The Lady Tigers would continue to battle but could not quite get over the hump, falling in the end 78-58.

Junior McKenzie McCord scored a team-high 19 points and dished out a team-high 6 assists.  Freshman Megan George scored 12 points and pulled down 10 rebounds.  Sophomore Miranda Carlson and freshman Ashley Glass rounded out the Tigers in double figures with 12 and 10, respectively.

The Tigers are right back at it Saturday afternoon at 1:00 pm in the Aldrich Athletic Center, taking on NAIA DII Lourdes University.
